Margarita Maximova earned her bachelor's degree in economics at the Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow and completed a double degree master's program at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Paris School of Economics and HSE. She worked as a research assistant in the Laboratory for University Development at HSE and taught courses in econometrics at HSE. Her main research interests are economics of education and labor economics in Russia. Her dissertation examines inequality in higher education and the school-to-work transition in Russia.
