Oliver Wach graduated from the University of Munich and Humboldt University of Berlin. Aside he gained valuable experience as a student research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich and at the Chair of Applied Microeconomics at Humboldt University. He spent semesters abroad at the IDC in Herzliya and at the HSE in Moscow. His research currently focuses on economic history as well as economic development. In his dissertation, he examines the influence of forced migration, border drawings, and ideological policies on economic development. He primarily focuses on Poland and Eastern Europe.
