A new paper by Alexander Libman (co-authored with Tomila Lankina (LSE) and Katerina Tertytchnaya (Oxford)) was accepted by the Journal of Peace Research. The paper investigates the resilience of educated strata in an adverse repressive environment. Using the case of the pre-revolutionary educated groups and Stalinist repressions, it plots the patterns of adaptation of the educated strata, as well as proves that repressions could paradoxically even increase the cohesion of the groups.
