Ceecon is a forum for the exchange of the latest research in the field of Central and Eastern European Studies.
On October 6-7, 2022, ceecon, the DGO Congress on Central and Eastern European Studies, will be held at OEI. The ceecon is the largest multidisciplinary congress on Central and Eastern Europe in the German-speaking world. It was founded in 2022 as a cooperation between the German Society for Eastern European Studies (DGO e.V.) and the Institute for Eastern European Studies (OEI) at Freie Universität Berlin.
Seven discipline-specific sections address research questions from a wide range of topics and methodological approaches. Plenary sessions provide an academic exchange on topics relevant to all scholars in the field.
The impact of the Russian war on Ukraine on Eastern European studies will be one of the main themes of this year's congress. Roundtable discussions will explore the implications for research questions and methodological approaches, as well as the challenges of international scholarly cooperation in wartime.
The congress will also be accompanied by a film screening.
